Both [Reiss'] murals created in Manila were based off of a larger story, and are pages from my ever-evolving book of magic. These symbols are used as protection, to create happiness and sense of place for all that view.

They imagery is created from my deep fascination with memories, mythology, eastern european folklore, and children’s books. I believe we can live in a type of in-between world where these characters play important roles in our everyday lives, guiding us to the answers of our most private questions.

I see my artwork to be a spell, an offering, a place for communities and people to gather. I hope to inspired people to look around and see that beauty is around us. To see beautiful things is a right we all have as a society, no matter where we come from or who we are.

Through this mural I hope to create conversations and motivated people to share and create beautiful things with each other.
